Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’

“Rescued after 15 years in a cult, Kimmy Schmidt decides to reclaim her life by venturing to New York, where she experiences everyday life with wide-eyed enthusiasm. On a whim, she rents a room from Titus, a gay wannabe Broadway actor, who makes ends meet as a street performer in Times Square. The unlikely pair find they’re well-suited to help each other out, with Titus reintroducing Kimmy to modern life, and her providing him with the inspiration that you should never give up

Crazy, camp and cheesy is probably the best way to describe this show. If you like a big dose of nonsense then you will love it.

The fourth season will launch on Netflix May 30, but it’ll be the first time a season of the show will be split into two halves.

THE SONGS

Despite the fact that the theme tune is one of those songs that will stick in your mind all day there are a lot of great songs in the episodes.

Since Titus loves to perform there is a LOT of that which I love. The performance I enjoyed the most was his parody of Beyonce’s ‘Lemonade‘ – it’s fabulous!

I really don’t think there are any down-beat songs in here as it is just such a happy show so the music reflects that!

Krypton

‘Krypton’

“The show follows Superman’s grandfather, Seg-El; whose family, the House of El, has been ostracized and shamed. Seg-El fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos.”

Having always been a huge Superman fan I love everything related to him so when I heard that this prequel was coming I was super excited.

Krypton is released on March 21st on SyFy and I am really hoping it lives up to my expectations.

THE SONGS

The song featured on one of the trailers for Season One is Zayde Wolf’s cover of ‘Save Tonight‘.

As the episodes air I will update the playlist of the songs featured but here’s what I have been inspired to include so far based on the theme of the show.

Santa Clarita Diet

‘Santa Clarita Diet’

“Joel and Sheila Hammond are everyday suburban real estate agents in Santa Clarita, California. The couple face a series of obstacles when Sheila has a medical transformation into a zombie and starts craving human flesh. With Joel and the family trying to help Sheila through the trying time, they have to deal with neighbors, cultural norms and getting to the bottom of a potentially mythological mystery.”

I always knew that I would get around to watching this show as I love Drew Barrymore, I love horror and I love comedy. Now that Season Two is about to be released I have finally started watching the show and what can I say – it’s everything I thought it would be.

It has just the perfect mixture of humour and gross-ness for me – oh and camp, it can be described as very camp! I’m not quite ready to delve into the realms of ‘Walking Dead‘ just yet so for me this is the next best thing.

I am currently trying my best to watch all of Season One before Season Two is released on 23rd March and I really recommend you to do the same.

THE SONGS

The song featured on one of the trailers for Season One is Cake’s cover of ‘I Will Survive‘ which I guess could be Sheila’s anthem in this show as she struggles to survive in this strange new situation she finds herself in.

There are a lot of ‘light’ songs as well as ‘heavy’ songs on this list which I think kind of reflects the humour and darkness in this show. Enjoy the songs that have been featured, enjoy the ones that I have added as I think they also fit the theme and as usual I will be adding more songs as they come up in the new episodes.
