Timeless

‘Timeless’

Watch on Netflix or buy on Amazon.

I’ve always loved anything to do with time travel so when I discovered this show I was optimistic that it would be another addition to my collection. It did not disappoint!

There’s a different story each week but there is an underlying story arc which just keeps you guessing and wanting more. A must watch for fans of time travel related stuff!

Season Two of Timeless is due in March and I for one, can’t wait!

THE SONGS

The song used on the trailers and promos for Timeless is ‘Eve Of Destruction‘ by J2 feat. Lola

Due to the nature of the show, the songs featured come from a range of decades so there really is something for everyone.

Altered Carbon

‘ALTERED CARBON’

“In the distant future, human consciousness can be digitized and downloaded into different bodies. Brought back to life after 250 years by Laurens Bancroft the richest man on Earth, ex-Envoy soldier Takeshi Kovacs must solve Bancroft’s attempted murder for the chance to live again in a world he doesn’t recognize.

Having seen a couple of the trailers for this show I think I love it already and it’s not released until 2nd February. I can only rely so far upon other reviews and here’s a snapshot of what Den Of Geek had to say:

“With plenty of action and even a bit of humour — you’ll want to buckle up for some dark comedy during Takeshi’s visit to an artificial intelligence hotel in the premiere — Altered Carbon is the perfect television entry point for cyberpunk fans. Although the series sometimes feels more like a feature movie drawn out over its ten hours, the world is a joy to explore during that time. The characters are immediately engaging despite a lack of complexity, a fault that could be remedied by a second season.”

Let’s see if I agree or not but I am very hopeful.

THE SONGS

The show is described a lot as cyperpunk so the songs should match that high octane futuristic feel of the episodes. The song from the trailers which could also be the theme song is ‘The Beginning Of The End‘ by Nine Inch Nails.

I’m so looking forward to hearing what other songs can be added to the list!

Black Mirror

‘Black Mirror’

A British science fiction anthology television series created by Charlie Brooke. It centres on dark and satirical themes that examine modern society, particularly with regard to the unanticipated consequences of new technologies. Episodes are standalone works, usually set in an alternative present or the near future.

Season 4 of Black Mirror has just been released on Netflix and it has certainly been worth the wait!

My Amazon Fire TV Stick has been put into overdrive as I have binged watched all the new episodes already.

LOVED them.

THE SONGS

As well as being a brilliant series the soundtrack is incredible! There are fantastic songs played during every episode.

There are quite a lot of great instrumental pieces of music in the episodes but I’ve decided not to include these in my playlist but you can listen to them here.

…and more importantly I urge you to check out the show on Netflix!
